What is ELC?

The Enterprise Leadership Conference (ELC) Silicon Valley West is a no-cost, three-day entrepreneurship training program for high school juniors.

Students are recruited from local high schools. After a competitive application process, selected students are divided into teams of six, all from different high schools. A pair of volunteer Rotarian Team Advisors (RTAs) guides each team through the conference.

Over three days of interactive training sessions, team building, and fun activities, students are challenged to develop a hypothetical company that provides a new product or service. On the final day, teams present their business plan to a panel of Rotarian judges in a “Shark Tank”-style setting.

Through ELC, students learn key business concepts such as management, finance, marketing, product development, human resources,  and ethics — all from engaging facilitators with extensive experience in their fields.

Students and their Rotary mentors consistently call ELC a “life-changing” experience. In just three short days, new friendships are forged, new talents are unleashed, and new leaders emerge.
